Meet our Pastor
Rev. Dr. Doug Hume
Pastor Doug started serving Boonville UMC in the summer of 2025. He comes after serving as Professor of Religion and Chair of Humanities at Pfeiffer University. Doug studied at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey, where he earned his Masters of Divinity and a PhD degree in Biblical Studies.
Doug's wife Jana also has a PhD. She is founder and executive director of the Martha and Mary Center for Women and Community Care, and is currently pursuing Clinical Pastoral Education. She also teaches for Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C.
When he isn't doing ministry or writing, Doug does amateur astrophotography. Doug and Jana live in the parsonage in Boonville with their three cats.
